Replacement parts may look similar, but the critical dimensions and interfaces must match the machine. 1. What Does the Extruder Produce?
Start with the final product and formulation, not only the machine name. PVC pipe, WPC profile, filled masterbatch and recycled pellets create different conveying, mixing, shear and wear conditions. The correct replacement should restore the original process—or deliberately improve it when the old design has a known problem.

2. Co-Rotating or Counter-Rotating?
Rotation direction cannot be guessed from screw diameter. Co-rotating screws turn in the same direction and are commonly selected for intensive mixing and compounding. Counter-rotating screws turn in opposite directions and are frequently used for controlled conveying of heat-sensitive formulations such as rigid PVC.
Confirm the direction from the machine manual, gearbox output or an assembly record. Also confirm the screw hand and meshing relationship. A quotation should not proceed while any of these items remain uncertain.
Screw hand, flight profile and connection ends must be identified before manufacturing. 3. Parallel or Conical?
Parallel screws maintain the same diameter and center distance along their length. Conical screws taper from a larger feed end toward a smaller discharge end. The two systems may serve similar products, but their geometry, gearbox arrangement and measurements are not interchangeable.
If the screw pair is tapered, compare the machine with the available conical twin screw barrel configurations. 4. Machine and Gearbox Identification
